Today we drove into Port Angeles. We found a couple geocaches online and found 4 of them. Port Angeles and Forks, Washington are put in the book Twilight and the sequels so there are a few places in Port Angeles where the movie was filmed. Brooke was so excited and got to pose in front of a few. She was happy about it and then we found a Twilight store which had everything Twilight a person could imagine. We found little RV park and are going to spend today and tomorrow there. It is called Peabody Creek RV park. We ate lunch and then went back to the bus. We went to the Victoria Ferry Terminal and got some information on it. We decided to go tomorrow and walk Victoria, B.C. We payed for another night for the campground and are looking forward to tomorrow.

Back Again?
7-17-09
Today we went on a road trip back to Whidbey Island (If you are wondering why we went back it was a way to bypass Seattle). We headed south and waited in line at the Keystone ferry terminal for about 2 hours. When they started loading the ferry we were very unsure if we were going to make that trip. We waited wile the other cars loaded and then we got to go and the person behind us didn't. We barely made it on and were about 4 feet from the back of the boat. We were the last car on the boat. After the 40 minute ferry ride across to Port Townsend we got off and headed for a campground near Port Angeles. We finally found a KOA about 5 miles from Port Angeles at about 10pm and it was packed. We got the last site because it was a “ghost” site an was reserved for different reasons. We then went to sleep.

Larrabee State Park
7-16-09
This morning we decided to stay another night at Larrabee State Park. We went on a hike and down to the beach and looked at some sea creatures. Mom found a starfish and picked it up. She showed it to us and then she put it back. We walked a little farther and then headed back. We got some firewood and started a fire (which took about 3 hours to get a sustainable fire) and had smores after dinner. We had a smore roasting contest an then went to sleep.

Leaving The Country
7-15-09
We left Fort Langley and headed to Chilliwack (I know, I'm not sure who picks some towns names...) and then to Cultus Lake and rented a jet ski for and hour. Dad got to pilot the vessel while I got to go on first. I swapped with Brooke after half an hour and then she got to ride. We had a blast and got up to about 45mph, on choppy water. We then drove down to Sumas, Washington and crossed back into the U.S. We stopped at a geocache and dropped to some trackables we picked up. We then found a State Park, Larrabee State Park. We found a spot and stayed the night.

First Cache in Canada!
7-14-09
Today I found my 50th geocache and it was in Fort Langley B.C.! We got to talk to the cache owners mom because it was on her mailbox. I guess he is so is crazed by geocaching he has found almost 1000 caches. We had a good time and visited some stores and ate lunch, then went back to the campsite.

Fort Langley
7-13-09
We started our day with good Safeway donuts (what else?). We saw a bunny running around our campsite and got a bag of lettuce. Dad and Brooke fed the bunny some lettuce and carrots, of which it preferred he carrots. The bunnies were used to people and they come right up to you. We left the campground and skirted around Vancouver to Langley and went to a Canadian flight museum and had a good time looking around. We then went up to Fort Langley and found a great campground called Fort Langley campground. They have a general store and a pool! We got a crash course in Canadian currency from the general store clerk and it was very helpful. We then came back and walked into Fort Langley, the town, and looked in the shop windows. Most of the shops were closed due to the late time of the evening so we saw a train, and headed back. We suited up and headed for the pool after we got back. We swam for about an hour and then took showers. We then headed back and ate dinner. We went up to the general store before it closed and got ourselves some roasting sticks. We had some smores and wen to bed.

Welcome to Canada....
7/12/09
Today we headed into Canada. We drove about 45 miles and to the border. We saw the Peace Arch. We passed through without any problems. We headed strait for Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. There were unfriendly people and lots of people so that didn't give us a good first impression of Canada. We finally got out of the mess of streets about an hour after we entered them and went up north to Shannon falls. We couldn't get a spot at the state campground but ended up at another one that had wild bunnies! We hiked over to Shannon falls and enjoyed the view before dinner and going to bed.

Deception pass
7/11/09
Today we moved up north a bit up to Deception Pass. We stopped and stayed at North Whidbey RV park. We then went up to the bridge and bought tickets for a boat tour of Deception Pass. We traveled down to the boat dock and mom and dad asked the captain if Annie could come aboard the next tour. He replied in the affirmative. We ate lunch in the next hour we had before he tour came back. We then boarded the next tour @ 2:00. Since Annie could go we all got to go on the tour. We got to see all of Deception Pass and it was a fun experience. After that we headed up to Anacortes and walked the town for a bit. We saw a huge ship being built on a dry dock and marveled at its size. After walking and having some cheesecake we headed back to the bus and went back o the campsite. We ate dinner, went and found a geocache and finished Jurassic Park III.

Oak Harbor
7-10-09
We started our day at around 9:00. We started packing up the bus up and getting ready to leave the campsite. We left at about 11:45 and haded out to Oak Harbor. After 45 minutes of driving we arrived in Oak Harbor. We started looking for a place to call home for a day. We browsed a campground and stopped there. The campground was called Staysail RV Park. Then we embarked on a search for food. We found a Taco-Bell / Pizza Hut and got some food for me. We then drove down the street to a Thai food restaurant called 1-2-3 Thai Food #2. We then ate lunch in a parking lot and are going to explore the town. We found a Walmart and bought some camping supplies. We all headed back to the campsite and later had dinner. We then decided to walk up to Dairy Queen and and get blizzards. Dad saw a 7/11 and decided to walk over and get some scratchers, lotto tickets, and a slurpee. We walked back and pulled out the movie we bought at Walmart (Jurassic park III) and got through an hour of it. tomorrow we plan to move on up north to Deceptions pass and stay a night there.
South Whidbey State Park
7-9-09
We started our day with breakfast and shortly after that we went on a Beach trail that started about 100ft from our campsite. We enjoyed the walk down and dropped about 200ft in elevation. We walked the beach and looked at some houses. The beach was quite rocky and we found a few jellyfish. The way back was long and the stairs, well, weren't so nice on the way back up. I dropped my sunglasses and later found them on the hike. When we got back to our campsite it was so nice to sit down. We ate lunch there and had sandwiches. We then headed out to Langley and on the way there found a thrift store called community thrift. The place was a bit funky, but cool. Brooke bought a picture frame in the shape of a heart and when she opened it she was surprised to find it loaded with bug carcases. We then spent some time looking for a few geocaches in Langley. We weren't successful on the first but the second led us to a forest and a hike. We found it and it was next to a HUGE boulder. It was about 50x50x50ft. We then headed back to Langley and from there out to a Valero where they didn't have propane and didn't have 6 packs of soda. Since we were disappointed and were low on propane for cooking dinner we found a food store. We got some soda, propane, and SMORES! We headed back to South Whidbey island state park and pulled in our campsite. We cooked dinner and made smores! Brookes method of cooking the marshmallow was to just stick the marshmallow in the flame, let it burn and then blow it out and repeat. Annie then went in our tent and fell asleep. She was in such a deep sleep she didn't want to move or come inside to the van. She finally got up and we got her in the van. We are going to move on the island a little tomorrow and up to Oak harbor.

Our trip begins
The Great Reichert Road Trip started. We arrived in Longview, Washington at about 1:00 pm. We grabbed some lunch at Taco Bell and then headed out again. We then drove by Seattle and then up to Mukilteo and waited for the ferry for a while. The ferry ride was fun and short. The ferry docked at Clinton at 6:40 pm. We then arrived on the longest island from tip to tip – Whidbey island. We unloaded and headed in search of a campground. We stopped at an information booth but it closed at 6. We headed up the road a little to Langley and looked for some information there. We weren't so lucky so we headed out to the main highway and stopped at a Valero gas station and pick up a map of Whidbey island and we met someone from Sacramento in there! They told us that there was a state park about 15 minutes from there that had a campground there. We headed out on the road again and got to South Whidbey island State Park and looked around. We found a spot, checked in and stayed he night. Tomorrow we plan on exploring some towns and places on the island.
