The Great Reichert Road Trip started. We arrived in Longview, Washington at about 1:00 pm. We grabbed some lunch at Taco Bell and then headed out again. We then drove by Seattle and then up to Mukilteo and waited for the ferry for a while. The ferry ride was fun and short. The ferry docked at Clinton at 6:40 pm. We then arrived on the longest island from tip to tip – Whidbey island. We unloaded and headed in search of a campground. We stopped at an information booth but it closed at 6. We headed up the road a little to Langley and looked for some information there. We weren't so lucky so we headed out to the main highway and stopped at a Valero gas station and pick up a map of Whidbey island and we met someone from Sacramento in there! They told us that there was a state park about 15 minutes from there that had a campground there. We headed out on the road again and got to South Whidbey island State Park and looked around. We found a spot, checked in and stayed he night. Tomorrow we plan on exploring some towns and places on the island.

HiI Guys!
ReplyDeleteI am so glad you are doing this blog, Ben, and am so glad you have stopped on Whidbey Island. When we visited, I thought of your family. Isn't it beautiful? I took a glass class in Freeland and loved it but liked Langley the best. Uncle Phil was really fond of Oak Harbor. Happy travels to you all. Keep us posted!
Love,
the VdC's
Dearest DD,
ReplyDeleteWe loved Langley too! Had a great time wandering the
streets in town and then looking for geo-caches. Spent
the night at Oak Harbor at a city park (RV park) in
the middle of town. Unique experience for us country
bumpkins :) Walked up and got a Slurpee today at 7/11.
I'll let Ben tell the rest. Had a lovely day. Getting
into vacation mode. Our family SO needed this. It's a
blessed life. I miss you. I love you....B
